Privacy Policy

Cade helps you keep a record of what you did, organise useful notes, and turn rough entries into reflected records when needed. This policy explains what information Cade handles and how it is used.

Summary

Cade is designed to be local-first. Your records are stored on your device unless you choose to use features that send text to Cade's refinement service or export/share your records.

Cade does not record audio. If you use keyboard dictation, the speech to text conversion is handled by your phone keyboard or operating system, not by Cade.

Information Cade Handles

Cade may handle the following information:

  • Records, notes, titles, transcripts, reflected text, and reflection fields you create.
  • Collections you create to organise records by purpose.
  • Images or files you attach to a record.
  • Settings you choose in the app, such as display preferences, app-lock preferences, collections, or optional About You details.
  • Technical request information when you use the refinement service, such as request timing, an anonymous app install ID, and basic service logs.

About You

Cade may let you add optional About You details such as your name and occupation or professional context. Name is used inside the app for a personal touch and is not sent to the refinement service.

Occupation or professional context may be sent with a Make this clearer request so Cade can choose more appropriate wording and emphasis. Cade should use that context carefully and should not invent workplace details from it.

Keyboard Dictation

Cade accepts text input. You may type directly or use the microphone button on your phone keyboard to turn speech into text. That dictation feature is provided by your device, keyboard, or operating system. Cade receives the resulting text, not an audio recording.

Attachments

When you attach gallery photos, camera photos, or files to a Cade record, Cade copies those attachments into its local app storage on your device. This helps the record keep its supporting material even if the original photo or file is moved outside Cade.

If you permanently delete a record, Cade also removes the local attachment copies that belong to that record.

Assisted Refinement

When you choose to make a record clearer, Cade sends the relevant text to Cade's refinement API. The API may use third-party AI providers to produce the reflected version.

Cade uses an anonymous install ID to manage refinement limits and reduce abuse of the refinement service. This ID is not your name, email address, device serial number, or advertising ID.

You should avoid entering sensitive personal, medical, legal, financial, or confidential workplace information unless you are comfortable sending that text for processing.

Exports and Sharing

Cade may let you export selected or filtered records as PDF or ZIP. Once you export, save, or share a file outside Cade, that file is handled by the app, service, or person you share it with.

PDF is intended as a readable portfolio and does not bundle attachment files. ZIP includes spreadsheet data, record data, and available local attachment files from this device.

Refinement Quota

Cade may limit assisted refinement usage. Each time you use Make this clearer, it uses one unit from the current refinement quota. Saving, editing, deleting, and exporting records can still work even when the refinement quota is reached.

Cade may use the anonymous install ID and basic request information to apply refinement quota and rate limits.

Data Storage

Cade currently stores app records locally on your device. If cloud accounts or sync are introduced later, this policy will be updated to explain what is stored in the cloud and how account data is managed.

Collections and unfiled status are stored locally with your records. Deleting a collection does not delete its records; those records move back to an unfiled state in the app.

Data Deletion

You can delete records from inside the app. You can also remove Cade from your device to remove locally stored app data, subject to how your device handles app removal and backups.

For questions about data processed through Cade's refinement service, contact us using the email below.

Children

Cade is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Cade, contact us so we can review the issue.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as Cade changes. The updated version will be published on this page with a new last updated date.
